SNOWSTORM 2026

Governor DeWine issued a Proclamation declaring a State of Emergency for the State of Ohio with the onset of the incoming storm.

 

ODOT confirmed with the Village Administrator that the “Emergency Snow Routes” defined in our Village Ordinances will be in effect. All vehicles should be off the street by 6pm. 1/24/2026.

 

The Village of Cedarville’s Codified Ordinances (Section 331.44), the declaration of a Snow Emergency triggers specific parking restrictions and rules for designated routes to allow for snow removal. 

 

Here are the key details regarding the Village of Cedarville’s "Emergency Snow Routes":

1. Designated Snow Emergency Routes 

According to Cedarville ordinance 331.44(e), the following are designated snow emergency routes: 

  • Route 42: From the eastern Village limit sign to the western Village limit sign.

  • Route 72: From the northern Village limit sign to the southern Village limit sign.

  • Other Streets: Any other streets designated by the Mayor during a declared emergency. 

2. Parking Restrictions

Parking is prohibited on designated snow emergency routes one hour after a declaration, with violating vehicles subject to towing. 

3. Duration and Notice

The snow emergency remains in effect until the Mayor or Greene County Sheriff ends it, typically with notice via social media, the Village website, and Cedarville University media. 

Additionally we are asking that no vehicles be parked on any street within the village corporation’s limits during the Snowstorm. Our plow crew will work diligently to clear streets as soon as possible.

Please give all snow removal equipment room to work “Don’t crowd the Plow” Move over/get out of their way.”

 

Safety is #1, please be prepared and stay safe and warm.

 

If you must travel make sure to clean off your vehicle completely, all windows, all lights, license plates, hood trunk and roof.
